Matthew has worked all over the world as a Musical Director, Musician & Teacher, including Europe, United Arab Emirates & Asia.
As a Musician, Matthew has worked for National & International Theatre tours, television, cruise liners, arts festivals and concerts. As a Composer, he has scored original music for theatre productions, advertising & television. As a Musical Director, he has taken charge of all music aspects on numerous theatre productions. In 2014, he was an orchestrator for a show in London's West End & his arrangements were performed at the Culture Square Theatre in Shanghai in September 2015. In December 2015 he worked in the UK as the Musical Director of 'Aladdin' at the Stiwt Theatre in North Wales, and most recently, he was the Musical Director for 'Sweeney Todd' at Birmingham Ormiston Academy.
Matthew has produced and co-produced numerous arts projects, including Youth Theatre productions in Dubai & Switzerland, and projects around the UK whereby students worked and performed alongside West End performers & professional musicians.
Matthew is a qualified teacher & his teaching has taken him all over the world; he has taught for recognised Drama schools including Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London, youth theatres, colleges and schools. Previous students have gone on to study at some of the UK's most well respected music and theatre institutions including Guildford School of Acting, Arts Educational and the Royal Academy of Music. Since moving to Vietnam, he has created and delivered Musical Theatre programs for International Schools and in November 2015, he worked with Collingwood Learning UK & global brand Diageo to deliver a theatre in education tour for Vietnamese schools, raising awareness of alcohol misuse.
This is Matthew's third year in Vietnam and he has been delighted with the community's positive response to Socio Muso. He has enjoyed building positive relationships with schools & arts organisations in Saigon & has especially enjoyed providing opportunities for the young people in the community.
